Verification of Identity
The Australian Consulate-General in Geneva can certify your documents and complete the DFAT Identity Certificate. As we will be verifying your ID, you are required to come in-person. Please read the information below regarding verification of your identity and the services we can provide.
‘Identifiers Certificates' or 'Verification of Identity Certificates'
Consulate staff will complete the DFAT Identity Certificate for ID verification. We cannot complete or sign any other organisation’s document or form to verify your identity (i.e. Westpac or other ID forms). Please contact the receiving Australian authority and ask them if they will accept the DFAT Identity Certificate before requesting an appointment. If this does not meet their requirements, then ask the receiving authority if they will accept ID verification from an alternate source (e.g. having their form completed by an alternate provider e.g. a Swiss notary public).
Is an in-person appointment required?
